Well come to salt water, but personally I wouldn't have put the tangs in so soon, I'd have put yhemnin last as they will become very territorial and may attack any new additions, just saying, good luck 👍

I have a new tank with a cartridge filter. I put some Seachem Matrix in the filter, as well as in a flow baffle below it, so hopefully there should still be enough surface area for beneficial bacteria even when I replace the cartridge

Have you considered qt? God forbid one bad fish and it can wipe out all livestock. This has happened to me in the past.

An easier way to add one is just to add the one at night when it’s time for lights out. Then the new fish won’t be seen as new when the other fish wake up the next day.

Hi Kevin, good video, I have a fish straight from the store with a sunken belly, I took him out to feed him alone as my others devour it too quick and he spat it back out, not sure if that’s from the stress of me removing him however. How likely is it he has parasites over just being underfed? The manager was on holiday that week who usually looks after the Africans and there were a few badly beat up fish in that I questioned while I was there…really feel like I shouldn’t have gotten any fish that day now as I’m scared I have introduced issues to my tank!

Be very careful, in general it’s not advisable to put more than one tang of a subspecies together, and those are both zebrasomas and have an aggressive disposition. Also best practices are to add the most calm and peaceful fish first, allow them to establish in the aquarium, and that’s the best chance a more aggressive fish added later won’t be as mean to them, and if so they know all the hiding places already. Also even first fish should probably go into a QT setup, if you have designs on inverts and coral later you can’t treat with copper in your main display ever. Good luck!

Don’t know much about saltwater, but wouldn’t acclimating with the drip method be safer for the fish? Given the possible differences in salinity?

Okay so i started cycling my tank 2 days ago , put a bed of aragonite sand topped it off with caribsea live sand and a dry rock placed inside, i then dosed it with ammonia chloride and stability , my ph was about 8 and the ammonia was 0.25 and then i put a live rock inside with the dry rock today and dosed it with some ammonia and stability, my ammonia is now about 4 ppm , can i now use prime or should i use stability? Or both together i am so confused

Seachem is running the game right now. 75g Malawi tank. Fish went in on the second day my LFS Thought I was nuts! It's been two months now and my fish are Thriving not surviving! Is all thanks to u Kev!

Hi, from PR ✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼 I just get a biofilter , 5 gallon capacity and only 1 fish . I also had a regular filter . I’m planning of using both . Is that necessary? Or I just need to use the biofilter . It’s a problem to use both ?

I've been following your advice using Prime and Stability on a 29 gallon we set up in January. But I need help! I'm stuck, and it's not moving forward. I haven't lost any fish, 0 ammonia! 😊 But the tank filled with a green fog, and I can't get it clear! I'm using a HOB. Added corse sponge, added 4 bio balls to a bag of porous media, and a small amount of pololyfil. (Small amount due to lack of space. I did get the Seachem buffer to bring PH up just a little. (It only took a small amount!) Water changes help some. But before the week is over, it's a thick green all over again! Thanks for all the great info!!

Im so happy you are bringing this method in the spotlight on youtube. A year ago i started my first salt water after years of freshwater. I never cycle my freshwater tanks, just like you did. Just add seachem prime and stability. But when i did reasearch on reef tanks, everyone was so ignorant and said my fish will be dead in days. I added fish 4 days after i set the tank up and they are still alive today. I even added 2 lps corals when the tank was 4 weeks in and no problem. People really like to repeat. When someone did it this way, they immediatly think its the only way to do it. So thank you for showing that this is also a way of doing things to new hobiest and, to those who have been in the hobby for years and are not affraid to learn new things❤

Hey! Off topic but i need someone trustworthy to do a review on jbl pro scan test kit? I want to use the normal test kit with the strips but im colourblind and its very difficult to make out, i have to send photos or ask my wife to help and its just a pain. Could you please review it or reccomend something similar?
